Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro: these are the technical specifications
Written by insideindyhomes

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro has already been announced for a Germany launch by the Federal Motor Transport Authority, so it is considered set for this country. This is expected, along with the Electric Scooter 3 and the Electric Scooter 3 Lite, at the Xiaomi AIoT event in the coming week. Xiaomi will announce various new additions to the product portfolio at the event on June 21, 2022, so the new scooters fit into the picture quite well. We were able to find out the technical specifications of the new Electric Scooter 4 Pro before the event. The product designation already suggested it: The leap will be a little bigger this year, but you definitely have one or the other innovation with you.

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro announced, in addition to the granting of the general operating permit, the corresponding declaration of conformity. From this comes a first official picture of the scooter (see article picture). From a purely visual point of view, there are not too many differences compared to the predecessors. In this country, there could be minor optical differences to the illustration in the article photo due to the operating permit. For example with the reflectors, which also have to meet certain regulations.

Some details are already clear in advance, including the top speed of 20 km/h, due to the approval regulations that apply in this country. Also a safe bet: Of course, the new scooter also relies on a connection to the Xiaomi Home app. This is done via Bluetooth 4.1 BLE to the smartphone. But such a scooter still has one or two technical details.

We can report that Xiaomi uses a more powerful motor for the Electric Scooter 4 Pro. This is rated at 350 watts, but achieves a peak power of 700 watts. You also have a certain benefit from this, despite the throttled performance and maximum speed. The Electric Scooter 4 Pro should also be able to handle a 20 percent incline on mountains and – which is often requested in the comment columns – also be designed for people up to 120 kilograms. So far, the Xiaomi scooters have always been capped at a payload of 100 kilograms.

The scooter itself weighs a total of 16.5 kilograms. This is not least thanks to the battery with a capacity of 12,400 mAh or 474 Wh. Depending on the design, this should be located in the underbody of the scooter. It should be sufficient for ranges of up to 45 kilometers, after which the scooter has to be connected to the power supply. Xiaomi relies on a magnetic charging connector and cap.

To the other facts? The scooter measures 119.8 x 48.4 x 124 cm and the aluminum alloy frame is said to be easy to fold. It not only communicates speed and charge status via an app, but also via a corresponding display (LED) on the top.

Another exciting innovation: Xiaomi now uses 10-inch tires for the Scooter 4 Pro, which are also self-sealing. The probability of being left with a leaking or burst tire is reduced because the coating repairs itself. In addition, the tires are said to be better at absorbing impacts and preventing skidding. Should be tubeless tires.

The braking system has also been improved. Xiaomi continues to rely on two brakes, but the disc brake on the rear wheel could be improved. In combination with the E-ABS system of the front wheel, the braking distance should therefore be significantly shorter. In addition, as usual: You recover kinetic energy (KERS) and recharge the battery when braking, similar to an electric car.

We can’t name a price for the Electric Scooter 4 Pro yet, we’ll submit it at the latest for the presentation on Tuesday.
