With the 0.95/50mm, the Chinese manufacturer TTArtisan has introduced another lens for fans of the retro look and mirrorless cameras, whereby “retro look” refers both to the appearance and apparently to the pictures taken with it. The lens shines with an extra high light intensity of 1:0.95 or F0.95 and can be operated purely manually.
0.95 portrait lens for APS-C and MFT: The 50mm from TTArtisan, which has an extra light speed of 1:0.95, is available with connections for various mirrorless cameras with APS-C-sized image sensors, such as the Fujifilm models.
The TTArtisan 0.95/50mm was designed for mirrorless cameras with image sensors in half or APS-C format and corresponds to a 75mm focal length there – as a short telephoto for portraits and other subjects. Accordingly, it is available with mounts for the most popular APS-C systems: Canon EF-M, Canon RF, Fujifilm X, L-Mount, Nikon Z and Sony E.
However, the lens is also suitable for the even smaller sensors in FourThirds format and is therefore also available with a Micro FourThirds connection (MFT).
TTArtisan 50mm f/0.95 for APS-C and MFT: The new bokeh monster and eye of the night from TTArtisan
With an extreme light intensity of 1:0.95 or f/0.95, this 50mm fixed focal length is recommended as a solution for available light shots in very dark surroundings, because the image quality does not have to suffer because of an increased ISO value.
With this light intensity and the 10 aperture blades, people or objects can be perfectly exposed with a wonderfully soft bokeh, which gives the pictures a special atmosphere.
The 50mm results in a focal length of about 75mm – converted to full format 35mm, so well suited for portrait shoots without being too far away from the model. This facilitates communication between photographer and model. In addition, the lens is light and compact – also ideal for on the go or when traveling. The close-up limit is only 50cm.

The 0.95/50mm is available with seven different mounts for mirrorless system cameras with APS-C or FT sensors.
The fully mechanical lens is operated manually, ie both the aperture and the focus are set manually. There is also no data transfer. The locking aperture ring and the 58mm small filter thread are also useful features.
The retro-look lens is made entirely of lightweight aerospace aluminum and “adorns” any camera. Inside there is an optical structure of 8 elements in 6 groups. Below this is an element with a high refractive index.
