Stormgate takes place in a new, post-apocalyptic world where science fiction and fantasy meet. The story begins hundreds of years in the future, after the near-total extinction of humanity. The Great Cataclysm was caused by the Eternals – a playable alien faction made up of demonic invaders claiming Earth for themselves. These otherworldly demons came from what are known as Stormgates – seemingly inactive portals from which they descended on Earth during intense solar storms. Now the Eternals are back and once again threatening humanity, who must summon up their last courage to save the world – and they do it with massive mechs.
