Smartphones from the Far East are no longer cheap copies of existing mobile phones, but serious competitors of well-known manufacturers. The manufacturer realme proves this once again with the realme GT Neo 3T. It is an open secret that very good mobile phone technology does not have to be expensive. After the bigger brother, the realme GT Neo 3 was already unveiled, realme has now also presented the smaller version of it to the public a few days ago.

Since realme has previously delivered great devices at an unbeatable price, that’s reason enough for us to take a closer look at the new offspring for you.

realme is not stingy with equipment

The realme is not stingy with its equipment. While the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 with its 8 cores (up to 3.2 Ghz) constantly guarantees high performance, the Adreno 650 GPU ensures sufficient graphics performance at all times. The device is always supplied with 8 GB of RAM. Together with the Super-AMOLED display, which has a resolution of 398 ppi in HDR10+ with a resolution of 2400×1080 and a full 120hz (can also be switched to 60hz at any time), the GT Neo 3T is a clear announcement to all the competitors in its class. Content is displayed with rich colors and good contrasts. Only the slight reflections in dark videos or while playing were sometimes a bit annoying in daylight.

In combination with the specially adapted Android 12 interface, which is called realme UI here, it is a real feast for the eyes. But nobody will be lacking in connectivity either. LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, a fingerprint sensor in the display, a USB type C connection are part of the basic equipment. Even the latest 5G standard is integrated into this phone. To unlock the phone, you can use the fingerprint sensor hidden under the display or the front camera. Depending on what you prefer.

In addition to the two versions with 128 Gb memory or 256 Gb memory, the back is available in three different versions: Dash yellow, Drifting White or Shade Black. With its size of 162.90 x 75.80 x 8.65 mm and a weight of approx. 194 grams, it is very compact for its equipment and always lies well in the hand. Even during longer gaming sessions, there were no complaints in the hand.

The 5000mAh battery provides you with enough energy for over 2 days. Thanks to the 80 watt power plug, the realme GT can be recharged to 50% in 15 minutes in our test. However, if you feed the device with juice from a power bank on the go, you have to reckon with significantly longer charging times. However, charging is only possible with a cable, unfortunately the phone does not have the option of being charged by induction.

The camera system

The camera system of the realme consists of two cameras arranged one below the other. The main camera (64MP), an ultra wide angle (8MP) and a macro camera (2MP), as well as the front camera, which has a resolution of 16 megapixels.

The Sony IMX 682 sensor, which is supported by an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro camera, delivers a good to very good image with its 64 megapixels under normal lighting conditions. In daylight, no image noise and good dynamics can be seen in the images. The quality of the images can’t keep up with them, but they don’t need to hide in daylight either. The software of the realme subsequently upgrades the images using the AI mode that can be switched off. Whether you like the result is of course a matter of taste. In any case, I left it switched on during my tests.

Unfortunately, the night shots don’t do so well. Despite the night mode, a clear image noise and somewhat blurred contours are noticeable in most situations. However, the separate night mode can help out here and improves the quality and reduces the image noise somewhat. The ultra wide-angle and macro cameras also deliver normal results. Here other models in the price range show that it can be done a little better. However, this is complaining on a high level. For everyday use, the images are consistently of impeccable quality.

Gaming performance in abundance

An aspect where realme has not made too many compromises. The performance of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset in the GT Neo 3T is in the upper range. Having a fast processor in the phone brings many benefits. For example, all basic tasks are done in no time at all, which in combination with the 120hz display is a real dream.

Whether Diablo Immortal, PUBG Mobile or Fortnite. In the editorial office, we were always able to experience a smooth gaming experience on the high settings. Strong! So far, that hasn’t really been possible for us in this price range. So if you’re on the road a lot and don’t want to miss out on a relaxing round of Call of Duty Mobile or Fortnite, the realme GT Neo 3T is just the right smartphone for you.

Thanks to the integrated Game Space app, messages from different apps can be paused while playing, the distribution of system resources can be shifted in favor of the game that is currently running, or the processor clock can be regulated more aggressively. The realme GT Neo 3T also has an activatable “GT mode” (now we know the name of the model beforehand), which makes several such settings at the same time and can speed up the performance of the game again at the expense of the battery power. In normal mode, the device never really got warm in the hand, even after longer Diablo sessions. realme once again delivers impressive performance and features at a small price.

If you are currently looking for a new daily driver that you can use to gamble on the go, I can really recommend the GT Neo 3T.

Also very attractively priced

The realme GT Neo 3T will be available in Germany from June 15th as part of an early bird sale. The RRP for that realme GT NEO 3T amounts to 429.99 euros (8GB+128GB) or. 469.99 euros (8GB+256GB).

The sale takes place at Media Markt, Saturn, Expert, OTTO and, among others. In addition, of course, directly from realme itself at
