The Prosenic M8 Pro is one of the cheaper robot vacuums with a suction station on the market. I was currently able to find it in a shop for a mere EUR 387 including the suction station. In this price range, I would personally only expect a solo vacuum robot. So let’s put it to the test!
scope of delivery

In the app, the vacuum cleaner must then be connected to the home WLAN. The same should transmit in 2.4 GHz so that it can also be found without any problems. Once connected, the app goes with the usual suspects such as e.g. B. the latest firmware search or setting the system language of the robotic vacuum cleaner. You can now give the robo a name here and, for example, set how often the robo should be emptied into the extraction system.
Also in the app there is also a remote control with which the robotic vacuum cleaner can be controlled as well as with the actual remote control.
With the first cleaning process, a map of the apartment is created. This can then be edited later. In this way, individual rooms that may have been identified incorrectly can be joined together or separated, renamed and, as the most important point, provided with no-go zones or restricted lines. The same, for example, so that the tangle of cables under the old desk is not eaten up by the robot or the drinking fountain is accidentally pushed through the apartment by the robot.
In the (sometimes not necessarily well translated app – light switch instead of lighting as an example) you will also find a log of the cleaning work done so far. So how many square meters were covered and how long it took etc.
Time periods can also be defined in the application so that the robotic vacuum cleaner starts a cleaning cycle at around 10 a.m. every working day. In this section you can only select certain rooms, which you hopefully named in the previous step.
The M8 Pro has a laser installed on the top for navigation. This bumper, in which the laser is hidden, has contact sensors that prevent the robo from getting stuck because of the height of the bumper. Overall, the vacuum cleaner comes under objects approx. 10 centimeters high.
The M8 Pro also has many other features and sensors. One sensor increases the suction power when the robot drives onto a carpet, the next detects stairs and prevents a fall, etc. All of this is now standard for me. At least in this price range.
We have two tomcats with more or less white fur in the household. Of course, the hair can also be found in the vacuum cleaner. If the vacuum cleaner could theoretically work for a month without any problems thanks to the suction station, I still have to clean it (like all vacuum cleaner robots I have tested so far) at least every two weeks.
But that’s not a problem and can be done in five minutes. On the underside, the small brush at the top left is used to get rid of any hair. The wheel in the middle usually has a few of them hanging on the axle. Small tweezers or something like that usually helps me here. Then just unclip the wide brush and use a small pair of scissors to run along the rough grooves on the plastic roller. This cuts longer hair that may be wrapped around it and then you can easily remove it. It was mostly that.
Depending on how dirty it is, the filter needs to be brushed out here and there. And the little rascal can go on tour through the home apartment again.
When emptying the waste container manually, a retaining flap helps to ensure that no dirt escapes from the container on the way to the dustbin. The waste bin also houses the cleaning fliquid. The liquid is refilled through the cover.
As a cleaning system, a mop is simply clamped under the container and while driving, liquid is let out bit by bit onto the mop, which then pulls behind or under the vacuum cleaner while driving. The 200ml was enough for my almost 40 square meters in cleaning level 3 for about one cleaning trip.
The vacuum cleaner can also be instructed via the app to drive in a Y formation. This causes the vacuum cleaner to move back and forth over these spots. Nevertheless, this cleaning function is not enough for me personally for everyday life and I only use the vacuum cleaner for vacuuming. It is then wiped manually from time to time. Some significantly more expensive Meanwhile, sucker rubs the floor with his mops. That sounds a lot cleaner and I’ll have to take a closer look at it when I get a chance.
The M8 Pro also overcomes obstacles with a height of approx. 2 cm. That’s exactly the problem with our foldable drying racks, which we like to have in the apartment from time to time. The vacuum cleaner drives halfway over one of the frames and then rams itself back and forth for a few seconds until it has somehow overcome the obstacle. Unfortunately, every robotic vacuum cleaner that I have been able to test does this. With all the AI and AI, nobody manages to realize that there is a drying rack there. Often the little rascals drive over it only to turn around and drive over it again from the other side. The M8 Pro does that too, like all other vacuum cleaners that I have been able to test so far.
The almost 5200 mAh battery should be enough for a cleaning size of up to 250 square meters! I can’t verify that, but our approx. 90 square meters have an area to be cleaned (sofa, bed, kitchen, this has to be deducted from the area) of approx. 43 square meters, which were cleaned in approx. 50 minutes. There was still plenty of battery over and so I can imagine that that should be quite possible.
The suction station measures approx. 35x30x20cm. This is relatively compact compared to the competition, but it also has the disadvantage that there is no plate underneath the robotic vacuum cleaner to absorb the moisture from a mop that may be attached. I’ve only tested the wipe function once or twice and, as I said, I don’t use it in everyday life to check it over the long term, but such a record would certainly not have done any harm.
Conclusion
In terms of price, I find it very interesting that you can save a few euros, depending on which online shop you buy the robotic vacuum cleaner from. At Galaxus I got a price of currently even 366 EUR, at Geekmaxi 394 EUR and at Amazon then 499 EUR.
Everything was sucked up without hesitation. The corners were also cleaned as usual. Here you can’t accuse the M8 Pro of anything negative.
So based on the Galaxus or Geekmaxi price, I find the vacuum cleaner to be extremely well priced. Personally, I wouldn’t put the wipe function that much in the foreground, if you value it, you should probably dig deeper into your pocket and buy one of the more than 1000 EUR expensive competitor products on the market. There it will certainly be rubbed better and sometimes even the mops on the suction station will be cleaned again and the water will be changed.
But that’s all a far cry from our €366 price point here, and in that region I’d totally recommend the M8 Pro.
