Nuki Smart Lock 3.0: the basic model is available today for 119 euros – appfahren.de

Last year, Nuki, a manufacturer from Austria, launched the third generation of its Smart Lock. In addition to a Pro version with improved materials and an integrated bridge, there is also a new entry-level model: the Nuki Smart Lock 3.0. Here, the manufacturer has once again been able to significantly reduce the recommended retail price to 149 euros compared to the previous model.

Today the Nuki Smart Lock 3.0 is available again: At Amazon you only pay 119 euros (Amazon link). That’s 9 euros more than the last campaign at the beginning of April, but still significantly less than the current Internet price comparison. At other retailers, the Nuki Smart Lock costs at least 147.90 euros.

Two months ago I wanted to write more about the Nuki Smart Lock 3.0, but then the offer was over a little faster than I thought. So let’s just catch up on that today.

I would like to start with information for everyone who is already using a first or second generation Nuki Smart Lock. Switching to the third generation is not worthwhile for them, because the differences are simply too small for that. If anything, the souped-up Pro version would come into question here.

This is what newcomers need to know about the Nuki Smart Lock 3.0

With the “simple” Nuki Smart Lock 3.0, the manufacturer is targeting newcomers in the field of smart door locks. And this is where Nuki can really score in my opinion: Installing and setting up the app is child’s play. The base plate is simply glued or clamped to the inside of the door, a key is inserted from the inside and then the Smart Lock itself is put on. It is invisible from the outside and basically does nothing more than turn the key from the inside. No drilling or screwing is necessary, and the Nuki Smart Lock can be easily removed without leaving any residue.

The installed smart door lock allows you to easily open the door with your smartphone or Apple Watch when you are within Bluetooth range. My three highlights are the following two functions:

Auto unlock: If desired, the Nuki will open the front door or apartment door as if by magic when you come home. The door opening is prepared via geofencing and then, as soon as there is a connection via Bluetooth, the lock is opened. This usually happens about 2 to 5 meters before you reach the door. Then you just have to push open the front door with your heavy purchases with your foot. Very convenient!

Lock’n’Go: You leave your home and you really want to lock the door? By pressing a button on the Smart Lock, the possibly locked door is first opened and then, once you have closed the door behind you, completely locked after a preset time.

Invite users: Does the housekeeping or the gardener come to you once a week? You can easily create users in the Nuki app and only allow them access at the desired times. For example, people can only open the door on Wednesdays between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. via the Nuki app or with accessories such as the Nuki Fob.

If you like the Nuki Smart Lock 3.0, you can add more functions later. With the Nuki Bridge, for example, the remote control or HomeKit are activated. With the Door Sensor you can lock the door even more reliably and check the current status. There are also accessories such as the practical Nuki Fob remote control or the Nuki Power Pack as a battery replacement.
