No question, Christoph Kramer (31) did a really good job as Borussia Mönchengladbach ambassador. Relaxed, personable, authentic, competent. The midfielder of the Fohlen-Elf scored on the sidelines of the UEFA Nations League duel (June 7, 2022) of the DFB-Elf in Munich against England (1: 1) as a TV expert for the public broadcaster “ZDF”.
The verbal double pass game with “ZDF” presenter Katrin Müller-Hohenstein (56) had something that fit, sometimes something different.
Gladbach professional Christoph Kramer speaks on ZDF about coach Daniel Farke
Kramer liked the “ZDF”, as at the last European Football Championship, with his comments and assessments. So it’s not difficult to imagine the 2014 world champion as a kind of media ambassador on behalf of the Borussia Mönchengladbach decision-makers.
Kramer as a fresh voice and popular face of Borussia in TV talk shows like “Doppelpass” or “Sky90” – why not?
This is how Christoph Kramer reacted to Müller-Hohenstein’s request late on Wednesday evening in a Kramer-like manner when asked what he knew about the new Gladbach head coach Daniel Farke (45).
The live answer in front of an audience of millions to “Christoph, do you know him?”
Kramer: “No, we haven’t spoken to each other yet. First off, I don’t even have his number. Second, it’s also vacation. That will come up soon enough.”
Müller-Hohenstein asked about Farke. Kramer replied: “His history is definitely worth seeing. I don’t even know him. In any case, I’ve now googled all his press conferences and interviews. I have to say that sounds very likeable, very good and really promising. So I’m very happy.”
A grinning Kramer: “Yes, very much.”

This is how the “ZDF” transmission ended with the DFB team from Munich’s Allianz Arena. Kramer received a number of positive comments on social media.
And the fact that the Gladbach professional and midfielder doesn’t actually know his new coach Daniel Farke is also intentional.
Farke explained that. The native of East Westphalia says: “I’ve always managed to leave my players completely alone for as long and as much as possible on vacation. When the season starts, the players look at me from day one – and probably more than their own families.”
Farke, who made a name for himself in England, at Norwich City, continues: “The boys have to do exactly what I tell them to do from day one, they always have to follow my instructions, always hear my voice and see my face . At some point you also think, I would like to see something different. That’s why this phase of the summer break is extremely important to give the boys a bit of freedom.”
Farke adds: “Let’s be honest: when I think of our national players, there is a lot of stress and pressure on their respective teams. The summer break for these guys is very short. I won’t annoy them with hour-long conversations or phone calls.”

That means: Kramer and a large part of the current Borussia Mönchengladbach squad will probably only get to know Farke, the new foal trainer, in person at the start of training on June 26 in Borussia Park.
Farke: “Of course, if something is concrete and important decisions have to be made, then I will also get in touch with the guys. At the moment I’m trying to make myself as rare among players as possible. We also want to release new energies and, in a way, create a fresh start from the start of training.”
