Abrupt end at “Bares for Rares”: saleswoman defies the rules and leaves
Written by insideindyhomes

If you are satisfied with the expertise, you can go to the dealer room at “Bares for Rares”, but you should bring a little leeway for negotiations there.

Helene Ternes wanted to part with a magnificent sculpture at “Bares for Rares” and hoped to earn a few thousand euros for the holiday fund. However, expert Albert Maier could not confirm this price. Although he attested the bronze to be of good quality, he had to tell the seller in the same breath that it was produced quite frequently, which of course reduced its value. In addition, the heroic pose of the motif is difficult to sell these days. 1,500 euros is a realistic price, a maximum of 2,000 euros could reach the bronze in a lucky case.

Helene Ternes agreed to sell the figure in this price range and accepted the dealer card. But then she set herself a new pain threshold of 2,000 euros, from which she could no longer be dissuaded. Whether she would have been allowed to go to Waldi and Co. under this premise can at least be doubted if you take the rules exactly.

Despite a bid of 1,500 euros: the seller prefers to go home

The heroic statue was initially well received in the trader’s room. Ludwig Hofmaier offered 1,200 euros and thus came closer to Albert Maier’s estimate. Finally, his colleague Susanne Steiger announced that she would put the requested 1,500 euros of expertise on the table. Although she had actually agreed to sell within the price range called, Helene Ternes remained stubborn. This ended her visit to the dealer’s room quite abruptly and she took her bronze home again.

Sometimes “Bares for Rares” is also emotional, like you Video reveals.

Bares for Rares: The most emotional moments

“Bares for Rares” runs on weekdays at 3:05 p.m. on ZDF, the offshoot ZDF Neo broadcasts repeats at 8:50 a.m. and at 6:30 p.m. The concept has not changed to this day. People like Helene Ternes have their exhibits evaluated by experts and then haggle over the price in the dealer’s room. Some room for negotiation is definitely an advantage.
